This biographical documentary film about Nina Simone (1933-2003), singer, songwriter, pianist,
and civil rights activist, traces her life from an aspiring concert pianist in North Carolina to a
popular jazz vocalist, to a major cultural figure in the civil rights movement of the 1960’s.
Free to the public.
